Paul Bambrough

As a concert artist, Paul Bambrough (tenor) has appeared at most of the country’s leading concert venues and cathedrals. He studied voice with Noelle Barker (Guildhall School of Music and Drama), Maureen Morelle and most recently with Ian Baar and received coaching from Paul Hamburger.
His extensive repertoire of oratorio works have included performances of Handel’s The Messiah, Samson, Jephtha, Haydn’s The Creation, Nelson Mass, Bach’s Magnificat, St John and St Matthew Passions (Evangelist), Mozart Requiem, Puccini Messe di Gloria, Britten’s St Nicholas, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle, Stabat Mater , Mendelssohn’s Hymn of Praise, Elijah and Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius. He has given numerous recitals including performances of Schubert’s Die Schöne Müllerin, Winterreise and Schwanengesang, Finzi’s Dies Natalis, Vaughan-Williams’ Four Hymns for Tenor, Viola and Strings and Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings. His operatic appearances include Tamino (Magic Flute), Lenski (Eugene Onegin), Don Jose (Carmen), Nemorino (L’Elisir d’Amore), Prince Hal (At the Boar’s Head), Ferrando (Cosi) and Cavaradossi (Tosca)
Latterly Paul has been in much demand as a teacher of singing and has worked with students from Birmingham Conservatoire, RAM, GSMD, RWSMD as well as having a thriving private practice. He has given numerous masterclasses and is particularly well known for helping students identify and overcome specific technical difficulties.
